see the mark on her head, she's knocked a little chunk out under some gorse bushes, the pc was hanging off, so ive had to cut it free, ive hibbiscrub, and wound powder, will that suffice, and will the hair grow back

Probably Keith, obviously can't say 100% but I'd say so

Hi keith

Just watch it doesn't get infected which I am sure you will do. Sometimes they do swell up and antibiotics may be needed. Hopefully it will heal without. fur may grow back but not guaranteed.

Hibiscrub is quite good stuff, and with wound powder too she will probably be OK. You know Jill, she will soon tell you if not  Don't think it will spoil her good looks :huggles:

Should be alright there, rub some aloe vera gel into it

Once it heals fully you could try coconut oil to encourage the hair growth, my dad used to swear by it for the horses, said it helped the hair to grow back

PS Is that why coconuts are hairy? :teehee:

aww poor sexy mamma ,give her a hug from us keithy :huggles: :huggles:

Once its healed that will leave a small scar Keith. The minute it heals twice a day rub wheatgerm & vitamin E oil into, it stops scarring & i know this for a fact as i have used it for many years on the igs.

Hope that heals up nicely for Jill

I've used an ointment called Cut & Heal for the horses and the dogs in the past. It's messy but forms a second skin over the wound and allows it to heal underneath. When you wash it off the skin is all fresh and new  and the hair has always grown back, even on the more serious cuts that the horse has had.

You should be able to buy it in most country stores with a horse section or tack shops

mmm, wonder if that will work on my o/h :- "

Tarka has one like that and it has healed well although the hair hasn't completed grown back. He still looks handsome tho.

I am quite interested to hear if anyone else has had sucess with Cut and Heal that JonnyFizz has used?

Give Jill a kiss, she still is the prettiest whippet I ever saw

Molly is forever running into things and getting cuts on her face - she's a bit clumsy! Her fur has always grown back but not always in the correct colour  the last big cut she got grew back black (w00t)

Here's a pic - you can't see it particularly well, its by her left eye. Just makes her look a bit scruffy thats all

It's funny you should mention it but that always happens with Stan. He gets the occasional hot spot and the hair always grows back the exact opposite colour you would expect from his markings (i.e. dark on a light bit and light on a dark bit). Good job i don't show him any more :p

:huggles: Jill.... :luck:

For us thickos - what does firkin and thrutchin mean? Steve thinks thrutchin is throwing up :x , but I think it means straining to poo  :teehee: Hope she, and you are feeling better soon :huggles:
