Tonight at flyball daisy got bitten twice by different dogs  the first one was a nip they were both going for tennis balls at the same time and dogs will be dogs. She was a bit hesitant around the other dogs so I let her have another go so she wouldnt get 'issues' then we were going to head for home :(

So got Daisy on her lead and another dog came over to her and went for her. I have never been so scared in my life it grabbed her after chasing her around. The instructor scooped up Daisy and got bitten by the other dog.

Any way thats the background, Daisy only has a couple of small wounds, what I'm worried about is her being frightened around other dogs, shes always been very happy go lucky with other breeds and I really hope she remains that way. At the moment shes a bit shockey :(

Poor little Daisy she so doesn't deserve that  .

As you know, I'm no expert and hopefully you'll get lots of advice. Think if it was Phoebs I would make sure she mixes with trusted dogs that she knows for a while until she gets her confidence boosted back up.

Wishing her lots of :huggles: and :luck:

Edited to say - just thinking - I bet those other dogs were jealous 'cos they couldn't run as fast as Daisy ;)

I would say it is not Daisy's "fault" that she got bitten. It is just an unlucky coincidence that she encountered 2 dogs with behaviour problem. What did their owners had to say? Before they come back to the fly ball they should deal with their dogs' aggression.

I am sure that Daisy will be fine, but you will have to be careful not to tense up when you are meeting other dogs, or Daisy will sense you apprehension.

After our very unpleasant encounter in the park about year ago, I prefer to avoid meeting other dogs. :b I am lucky, that when my dogs get frightened they run straight to me for protection.

Poor old Dase is quite sore but the actual wounds are tiny, I think she bruised as that area is very tender :(

The dog that did the damage is a lurcher and chased dasiy last week when they were both off lead, so the owners were making sure Daisy was on lead before they ran her but she came up to her after her run sniffed then lunged, I panicked and probably did all the wrong things I think I screamed at one point :b when it picked her up by her back end and shook her. The owner has said the dog wont be back, she was very upset

A friend said to me that Daisy might get picked on as she has light coloured eyes and a startled expression and this might set some dogs off as she looks like shes staring at them

I'm going to take her to agility tomorrow so she can see all her friends there :huggles:

Boy do I ramble
