A bit of background first I have two whippets Milo is 3 Frankel is a year and a bit both are neautered. Both have done puppy classes and been socialised.
We've never had any problems with other dogs apart from when our neighbours dog got loose and went for both dogs which ours naturally nipped back and the fact that Frankel can a bit full on when he meets new dogs and sometimes will bark so we tend to keep both on the lead until we know the other dog is friendly and Frankel his calm.
My problem is recently Frankel has got funny with puppies on two occasions (on leads) first time with a small cocker he put his hackles and started to bark and grumble when it got in his face so I moved him on. Today we met an over excited German shepherd cross puppy that Frankel barked at so we let Milo say hello first then when he was queit we let him say hello the puppy really got in his face obviously only in a play manner but Frankel growled/barked then went to nip it.
I obviously know now that he doesn't like dogs he doesn't know getting right in his face as most of us wouldn't either but this is something I don't want to get worse and I find it embarrassing as he is not normally like this with other dogs. Has this happened to anyone else who could give me some advice?
Thanks
