We had a pretty good turn out for the AGM which was held after racing at the Cheltenham Regency Hotel just down the road from the track.

After everybody had had a chance to eat a very good lunch from the carvery we got down to discussing club matters which always takes a couple of hours as absolutely everything gets discussed and voted on in a democratic fashion.

The main changes this year involved changes to the committee.

I stood down as secretary although I am remaining on the committee as a "normal" committee member and shall still be taking the entries for the opens.

Volunteers were asked for and after proposals were taken, Lesley Harris was unanimously voted in as the new secretary with Joanna Masson as Assistant Secretary and June Jonigk offering her help to the other two. Between the three of them they have about 40 years of racing experience so I think the club very good hands. As any club knows it can be hard to find people to take on roles like this so having not one but three people coming forward to take on the role is very encouraging indeed.

Lloyd Masson has joined Dave Thomas as Assistant Race Manager.

Although they have already sourced the trophies for this years opens, Jane Rankin & Joanna Masson stood down as Open Trophy Stewards but we were very pleased to have Louise "the shopping queen" Simmonds join the committee and step forward to take on the role.

Yvonne Young has taken on the role of Raffle Manager and Elaine Pollard has also joined the committee.

Thanks Judy for all the hard work you've put in whilst you have been Secretary. I'm sure Lesley will take to her new role like a "duck to water" :*

It was a lovely day today, with the Conways doing well at racing as usual :- " The AGM was a pleasure, and the carvery went down a treat - good venue Judy

Smidge enjoyed his day with the big boys, and made a new best friend in big boy Jools. The girls Dangermouse, and Moondust had a great time along with Daylight Katie, running in proving trials for Geoff Cook's Sam. Sam went like a dream - right through the middle of the pack, and passed his trials with flying colours, and is now a fully fledged racing dog - putting in a good time too

Have to say a really big WELL DONE to Joanna, Lloyd and Oliver's Magical Mistery, and Magical Mayhem who both won velvet jackets. Fynn was Top Dog of the Year at Gloucester, and Archie won Top Scurry. I expect Judy will put the other results on at some stage, but to see the joy on Jo's face was lovely, she was so proud of her boys.

I hope to see some pictures of your boys on here soon Lloyd :D

Thanks June, glad you enjoyed it. I'm waiting till I've got the photos and then I'll do a report on the Top Dogs  Jo's face was a picture wasn't it :D

It was a lovely day of racing followed by a fantastic meal at the Regency . Well done Judy for all of your hard work as secratary, can't think what you are going to do with your time now :- " I really enjoyed the AGM, it is always nice to hear different points of view discussed and I personally feel it is one of the great strengths of Gloucester.

Of course our magic moment was BOTH of our boys winning a velvet jacket, you could have knocked me down with a feather when Archie got Top Scurry, I seriously didn't see that one coming. As I have said before, that dog may be slow, but he gives us so much fun and pleasure  Well done to all the other top dogs and their owners and thanks to all the people who work so hard to keep our lovely club up and running and a sheer joy to attend
