I reckon this years All Ireland Lurcher Championships over 23" racing will be one of the most exciting races that there has been. I can't remember the last time that there was five dogs with any one of them capable of winning it on the day.

We have ...John with The Mighty Colt, Frankie with Ellie May and Whistler, Billy Harper with Tara and Billy Craig with Ely and every one of them are bred for speed. I think with the exception of Ely the others have beaten each other at one time or another but Ely could be the dark horse as i'm lead to believe he can stay all day and as Shanes Castle is the longest lurcher race in Ireland it may just suit him. Come on folks what are your thoughts and who do you reckon will win.

and there was me thinking u were going to arrive to shanes castle with 'Maddy' in toe for one last big run,lol :- " :D :p LOL

From what I have heard about all of these dogs, I would say its going to be a damned fine contest. There are however, lots of contributary factors as to performance on the day etc and I think we should all remember all of these dogs for their past records and successes  Saying that though, I know who MY shirt is going to be on ;) ;) ;)

LOL JOHN....Hey nothing like a bit of pressure to test what we are made off....I'm sure you are all up first thing in the morning getting them walked before it gets too hot and a good gallop in the evening as it cools down again. Looking forward to hearing all the symtoms the dogs have on the day of the race.....lol excuses excuses....i used to make them up myself....like the dog hasn't been exercised for the past week as i'm too busy....and she seesm to be carrying her paw....he he he no hiding place for anyone now....i'm enjoying this....thank goodness i have nothing running as it would be me sweating it out.

The greatest prize for the winner will not be the trophy and the prestige that goes with it but having the bragging rights on K9 (w00t) :teehee:

Don't think anyone is going over from the mainland Darren,so i'll expect you to give us English a full commantry on the whole race.Looking at the distance they'll be running this race wont be won at the slip.Good luck to all, hope there are no injuries at the end of the race  Woops forgot to add my money's on the winner.Wish I was there to see the race.Good luck John  Karen
