Two or three weeks ago I posted the schedule of the whippet national -

I have seen two or three posts announcing some of the results -

My wife and I were hoping to "make the cut" in any one of the huge classes

with any one of the 4 we were taking and the other two littermates of the 9 mo

old pups we kept out of the litter so here are the results of our nat'l

A full week for us - starting with the Futurity on Tuesday

the first one is for Thunder in the 8 to 10 puppy dogs

First Place - Wildhare Distant Thunder

8 to 10 puppy bitches

Tempest & Penny made the cut -(I think both of them did - it was very late)

regular classes - 9 to 12 puppy bitches

our Flame and littermate Tempest made the cut

Stud Dog Class - the sire of the litter, Pete, took 2nd place

with Thunder and littermate Penny as his get -

I told Paula when we decided that we would go to the national

that IF we made the cut with anything that we have would be

a highly sucessful national with all the hundreds of nice whippets

there - To actually win a class and make the cut with all of the

pups in the litter is beyond our wildest imagination - and to top

it all off Dutch (whom we bred 5 years ago) won the Triathalon this year and

made the cut in the BOB ring -

Dutch is owned by Lisa Costello

Tempest is owned by Paula Knight

and Penny is owned by Jennifer Ogden (owner of the sire of the litter)

Congratulations to all the winners and near winners - we really

should do this again sometime - What A Rush !!!!!!!!!!!!!

What great results for you Dwight and Paula - congratulations! Have your successes made you eager to start preparing for the next National?

The next nat'l is going to be on the west coast in oregon - about 1600 miles

from here - just a little far for us to make it driving on a weekend - I have

driven that far over a weekend but that was many many years ago - it would

take me 6 or 7 months to recover from a road trip like that - I do not fly

anymore - so guess we will have to wait for the next one that will be in

atlanta - only about 1000 miles or so <VBG>

we had such a good time at this one - it will have to last for awhile

dont have any pictures yet from the show - show pictures were just posted

on the photographers web site and have to go sort out ours from the

20,000 that are there - will take awhile just to find them
