Does anyone know why my 4 year old Whippet bitch would bleed from her bottom. Just the once I think. She was scraping her bum along the grass which is why I noticed it.She isn't due to be wormed.

The usual reason for bum scraping is anal glands . She may have caused some trauma to her bum by rubbing it along the ground and that could result in bleeding .

If it is blocked anal glands they will need to be emptied by your vet (I used to do my elderly cat - horrible job!). Alternatively, even though she's not due for worming if she has eaten something, she could be carrying a worm burden. Any tell tale signs around her anus? Another worming wouldn't hurt.
