Daft question but I don't get the chance to see whippie-racing.... are the jackets a particular colour for a particular number?

I'm painting a pair of racing whippets and for composition I want the jackets to be red and blue.... what numbers would this be? The numbers would not be very clear but I wouldn't like to get it wrong....

This is a big canvas, four feet by three, inspired by a photo Jaquie posted here...
