Only 3 dogs took part in this Scottish Open

Soprano 1st

Guess When 2nd

I think Acca took part and was 3rd

The other helped school the pups :thumbsup:

I only hope more than 3 come to the Scottish Derby

it"s a shame only 3 dogs attended but that is the way whippet racing is going DOWN HILL FAST,but you can bet there will be more at the scottish derby. :luck:

george was going to attend this meeting, but rang aurther up the night before toask for weight classes and such, and aurther said it was for scottish region dogs only, so this might be the problem as to why the entries were so low

Speaking of Scottish Opens could someone please send our appologies to Danny Kiers as we will not be able to attend the Memorial Open this year due to Mum working that weekend but will happily give a donation when we see him at the Scottish Derby.

people put a lot of work into putting on a open, 3 dogs what can you say. WHATS THE ANSWER. less open, or sellect areas to get more up north?? but with the price of fuel poeple cannot afford to travel every week . its going to cripple racing as it is starting to get hold expensive fuel :rant: :rant:

Even though, you would have thought there would be more than three dogs racing but this was a time open and I think that had more to do with it. Time opens are a great leveler in handicap terms as it gives all the dogs a chance but most people won't travel to them. I can't remember the marks but all three dogs were close together going over the line.

Yes all the clubs work hard and it is dissapointing when you get a poor turn out but we will keep on working hard. I cringe when I pass a petrol station and see that petrol has went up another 1p per litre it's hitting us all hard. I save up all winter to try and cover the fuel costs for the summer months. I would think that we will all try and get to the big opens but in the long term the smaller opens night suffer but then again the clubs might prosper again if people are cutting down on traveling due to fuel costs. And thats before we start getting charged per mile bearing in mind that the two Straight Championships are on Bank holiday Weekend's what will it cost us then.

Thanks johng for that m8,they should make them opens open to everyone and they might get more dogs there was nothing on in june but devon and thats a nother story i just wanted to give the dog a run so i had to go to old hall
