my old dog 15.3 years of age labrador is skinny I'm constantly cleaning up her number twos day and night all over the more I feed her the more comes out and she's stIill skinny the vet just said she's old but I think it's more thsn that but I read about this that it can cause this but it said stools was yellow well they wasn't until tonight where she's just walked from bathroom through two rooms leaving yellow poop anyone know about this and whether anything can make her put on a bit of Weight

she also trumps allot at night no google info except expensive foods which she allready on and lost more weight

She is old and as with us humans unfortunately our organs start to fail ....
15 is a really good age for any dog but especially a labrador. ..
As long as she has a quality of life left let her what she wants when she wants it but if nothing is staying inside her stomach she may just get thinner and thinner....

As tinytom already said....but I have to ask, did you vet recommend any supplements/products to aid digestion and help to firm her poos?

no he has only put her on stuff when she has had diareah but she don't rest of time just does it all over while she walks but she does it allot it seems like she fastly digests her food

Sadly it sounds like her body isn't able to absorb her food and that's why she isnt holding it in

If this has got worse since the last time you spoke to your vet, then you do need to speak to them again. There could be a number of causes, and we are not in a position to diagnose. Though I wouldn't be at all surprised if Tinytom is right.

he noticed himself she has lost more weight since she was last there which was only few days ago due to a swelling on her head but just said she's old

As it not entered your head of calling it a day? 15 is a good age , some vets will and should have this chat with you , sadly other vets keep taking your money .

no cause she is still happy and mobile I but I don't think she will have long left one of my other dogs is 14 in may but she don't look it her only problem is epulis growths in the mouth that need removing by operation every 6 months or so

Hi' I'm sorry for your dog, it is miserable when they are not feeling well! Have you spoken with your vet about enzyme support? There must, surely, be something the vet can help with? Sometimes they just look at an animal and make up their minds it is all over! Miserable lot they are! (not a fan of vets for very good reasons!) Have you done your own research on the Internet? There is likely to be a plethera of information I should think! Anyway best of luck, and at the end of the day, if it is the dogs 'time' then help it be the kind decision! Heart goes out to you both! ...............

the vet didn't want to put her on anything else didnt give any advice on what to do for the weight loss she does allot of numbers twos day and night most of time there fairly solid I did look on Google couldn't really find much but will look again

Sometimes they just look at an animal and make up their minds it is all over! Miserable lot they are! (not a fan of vets for very good reasons!) Have you done your own research on the Internet? I just searched enzymes on vet uk and it came up with pancreatic insufficiency enzyme tablets I put a picture on of them do you think these are worth trying with her ?

it's not to the point of showing her ribs or anything she just very skinny it would harm to try these pancreatic insufficiency tablets anyway would it ?

I would be very careful giving an old dog with health problems anything without vets advice..

My old girl eats what she wants,as done for a number of years now. She's had half a tin of creamed rice pudding for her breakfast,some stew and dumplings just now. She'll have some of her normal food later on. I do feed little but more often, she gets fed four times a day so her stomach doesn't get overloaded. She's over 18 years old now but her weight is constant.

Hi, I am NO expert! I have had a quick look and as far as I can tell , it should at the least, do no harm to try. I would, before you charge off and buy them, pick up the phone to your vet and ask if they have any thoughts on them - just to be on the safe side! fingers crossed

As much as we at times dislike our vet! Its a vets decision with all the right brain thought to make a decision of that importance on the situation,, which hurts us so much,, I asked my vet a couple of times before I said ok it’s time,, and it was,, different circumstances on issues but both time I agreed and let my two loved ones go,, so ask your vet again , appeal to them , what’s there’s thoughts , listen and make a decision,,
