It is with sadness that I report the demise of June Mattock's Arethusa, who was pts yesterday, after suffering a number of seizures.
June is distraught at her passing, she was her first whippet after leaving the sport for a number of years.
Zoe was bred by myself, one of a litter of two from my own VC Hatt Outta Belle, and sister to New Lisa Life, who thankfully is still with me.
Zoe gained her half coat, but frustratingly, the title eluded her, and subsequent injury forced her early retirement from the sport, not long after reaching veteran status. She would have been 15 next month.
She was very much a "character" who was vocal in the extreme, and didn't take kindly to being left in the car whilst June's younger dogs raced. But she was always a very loud whippet, and more than once June offered to let me have her back. An offer firmly refused. I hope that Zoe can forgive me for her puppy name which was Mona for a reason other than Mona + Lisa o
Go with love Zoe, run free.
