I am very sad today to tell that unfortunately lovely fawn BJ (Gilnockie Ace of Spades (Imp UK) x Ch Aslan Chanson D'Amour) has met with an untimely death at the age of 8 months.

His owner Lee-Anne was recently forced to move out of her house to a place where she could only have two dogs. She took two of the kelpies and the other dogs including the two whippets, went to her father's. On the weekend BJ escaped from the yard and has been missing since. Lee-Anne has been searching and ringing the pounds every day. Yesterday she found his body at the RSPCA. Someone had found his body on the roadside and had handed him in. (Thank You to those people whoever they were - at least we know what happened to him). I am devastated of course but you can all imagine what sort of state Lee-Anne is in. Please say a little prayer and light a candle for BJ tonight.

Furbabies sleeping in heaven's light,

Tended by candles in the night.

Peaceful dreams be theirs to keep,

Thank you everyone.

Aside from the tragic circumstances of his loss (which I try not to think about) and the most important things about his life .... that he was a really sweet puppy and dearly loved ... it is very sad to me as he was my first show puppy in the Brisbane area - he had already had one CC and had won a number of class in show awards and from the moment I handed him to Lee-Anne she had him working in the ring like a charm, they were just meant for each other as a show team. She was having such fun with him and was getting many complimentary comments from judges and other show dog owners alike. There was so much promise .....

I have lost a young Whippet on the road too, so know how heartbreaking it is, but at least I knew immediately what had happened to my Sid- the not knowing and then finding out the tragic news after days must have been unbearable
