Well, Mabel had her scan tonight and we are expecting the patter of tiny Whippie feet!

The scan showed definitely 5, probably 6 pups, and she conceived on the first mating- so we needn't have gone all the way back up to Cheshire a second time!

I am VERY excited!! :D :teehee:

Dad is Ch. Oakbark Millennium Gold

Since her scan last night, Mabel has been taking things very easy, moping around and acting mumsy- it's as if she's just realised she is pregnant!

Liz, I don't know if I'm being dense  but how can the scan show it was the first mating.

Lily says well done Mabel and make the most of being cosseted - life won't be the same again - especially if you keep a daughter

Because she was mated twice, so she would have either been 31 days (1st mating) or 29 days (2nd mating).

The man who scanned her scans sheep for a living, so his machine is very accurate and the pics are very detailed- he even pointed out the puppies' heads and umbilical cords

So he said she was definitely 31 days rather than 29, as the foetuses were more developed, and so the pups are due about 4th September- only a month today!!

Better start studying my Book of the Bitch again! :- "

Good luck Mabel :luck: Keep us posted!

Thanks for that info Liz - I didn't realise it could be that precise
