Well, I know my dog is finally back to normal as he's resumed the very annoying habit of doing the special whining noise, which all good whippets usually keep for racing days, for an hour or so after getting back from his morning walk.

I don't really know what's going on in his head; he didn't use to do it but started around the same time as we started going to the greyhound track with OEH on Wednesday mornings. It's as if he's anticipating that all his morning walks might turn into something more exciting, and disappointed when he realises it's back to bed afterwards. Does anyone else's do the race-whining-noise when they shouldn't ?

All hell breaks loose in my house at about 5.45 the dogs get fed at 6, Lucy starts it off quitely then she starts whinning, then she start singing at the top of her voice, all the others join in at this point, thank god ive got great understanding neighbours. (w00t)

I can understand it if they are anticipating something exciting (food, races) but he knows very well that nothing very exciting happens most days until the next round of dinner/walk in the afternoon. He used to get very overexcited after rabbiting when he was younger and whine for a while when he got back. OH has been taking him over the secret lake more often in the mornings recently (rabbit paradise), maybe it's this that's been getting him overexcited?

Mine do that! (w00t) Thought I was the only one with carolling sighthounds! Luckily my neighbour is pretty understanding too. :sweating:

Oh- I do hope its not our fault that he is being a pest  sorry :(

Sorry, no I'm not sure if it is this, discussing it. It might just be seeing rabbits first thing is too exciting for him (it's a job to get him back some days). It started about the same time as OH started going over there regularly too.

Have found a distraction method, he will stop if James puts my furry coat on the chair by the radiator, he was so pleased with this he forgot to do it today. He won't sit there without the coat (even though there's a lovely, woolly cushion on it), touching isn't it?
