Hi
I really need help we have had our 8 month pug since October and thought he needed company so got a micro pug 2 weeks again that is one month older and previously homed
Problem is they won’t stop fighting and apart from been bitten a couple of times by the micro pug it is really getting me down to such an extent that I am scared to leave them home alone
Please can anyone give me some advice or is it time to hand the micro pug back which at this point is still an option ?

Hi. My 2 cents here:
I have friends who added a 2nd male puppy to an already existing male adult, and had similar (although not identical) problem. The conflicts and fighting started when the puppy grew up, and started constantly going after the adult.... a couple of years into it - they are still struggling, although some progress has been made.

Long story short - I think the situation is possible to manage, and maybe even improved, but it will require quite an effort. The longer you wait - the harder it will get, for all.

So, if you are really determined to make it work - then settle in. Usually I think this makes sense when you (humans) feel the need for the 2nd dog, and the effort put into making sure they can coexist in peace is worthwhile. But if you were just looking for a companion to the existing pug - I doubt that it's worth the stretch for you, and therefore is likely to eventually fail. In this case, I would consider returning the micro pug, sooner the better.

I agree with Ari_RR. If you got the micro pug for the benefit of your first pug - he will almost certainly be happier as an only dog. And your new dog won't benefit from being attacked - he could end up becoming fear aggressive. So really, you're not doing either any favours.
