Yes, Keith. It is an antibiotic. I was told by my vet that it was inpossible for a dog to have a reaction. I thought it was a bit odd myself as my other whippy had a reation to it when given via injection. Just wondered if anybody else had had any problems with it.
Having looked it up on the internet this morning it does seem to be quite an aggressive drug and certainly some of my esxperiences matched what I have read.
I've had awful problems with Baytril in birds, many cannot tolerate it at all and have ended up losing them due to the toxic effects of the drug rather than the underlying problem (and it's the only antibiotic licenced for poultry  ) Although there is some anecdotal information that it may not be well tolerated by some animals, this is the only information on known contraindications:whippetsrus said:Having looked it up on the internet this morning it does seem to be quite an aggressive drug and certainly some of my esxperiences matched what I have read.
