is it normal for my Beagle to not want to eat while shes starting to come into season??

Every dog (or should I say 'bitch' in this case) is different. Some don't want to eat, some get the munchies, some get grumpy, others get clingy. Basically hormonal!

So what I would say is that it's not abnormal for her to be picky coming into season. Is she definitely coming in or do you just think she might be because she's not eating.

Also keep an eye on the discharge on the very very slim chance that it develops into a pyometra (you should know by smell/colour which is very different from normal discharge). While it might be that she's just moody from her season, it's also possible that if thre is an infection that would definitely put her off.

Not wanting to scare you, just make you aware.

Best of luck. Have 3 intact girls (plus two spayed), Had one in season in December, the other just finished her first season last week, and still waiting on the last one (sister of the one who just finished) to start her first one. Hoping she holds off now for another week as we're off to Crufts tomorrow.

Mine are always a little 'depressed' when they have had a season... off food, moping about....

Dreaming of a hot boy dog I suppose!!

Molly was a nightmare when she was in season. Twitchy, moody, extra anxious in guarding me, even guarding me from my partner and the cats, guarding next door's baby from her own mum, not wanting to go for a walk and then being so full of beans that we couldn't control her in the house, even less interested in food than she is normally.

And then she started another season 12 weeks later, the week she was supposed to be spayed...
