What are people's thoughts on these?
Someone mentioned using them as a toilet training aid on my other thread and I must admit... After looking them up I'm very tempted to give them a try as puppy is still frequently weeing indoors despite consistent efforts to take him outside.
I wondered if many of you here have had success with using them. I had never heard of them until it was mentioned ony other thread.
Obviously we will continue with the training we are doing but I was hoping the belly band would save the carpet in the meantime... Plus get the scent out of the house.
Would be interested to know what you all think

Oh sorry... They are basically dog nappies! It's like a wrap thing that goes around their waist and you can put a pad in there to catch the urine. I never knew such things existed until it was mentioned on here by someone!

But my initial googling seems to indicate they are a bit like nappies or incontinence pants. So the dog wees, but the urine is captured. I could understand them being really useful for a dog that has lost bladder control through illness or age but I cannot see them helping with toilet training - in fact the opposite because the dog doesn't need to learn to hold his toilet until he is outdoors.

Obviously we will continue getting him to wee outside, he still seems very adverse to toileting in the garden and I don't know why. Just in the meantime the more he is weeing in the house the worse he seems to be getting. I'm guessing because he can still smell his own urine indoors...even though we do use sprays that are meant to neutralise the smell

This was my concern... But we will still encourage him to wee outside...plus I hoped he would find it uncomfortable to wee in a pad so may deter him from doing it while he has it on.

@Mrs S you could use the nappies but it may not solve your problem, i would ask a friend with a dog to catch the dogs wee in a cup and pour some in your garden, he should wee over it to sent ride it. I'm pretty sure Pets At Home sells nappies but you may want to reconsider this because it could become pricey and it most likely will not solve your problem. is there any way of keeping him in a play pen attached to the door so he can go out when he wants and its only a confined area? This will not be helpful if its raining/cold because he may not want to stay/be outside, but there is a lot of alternatives to just weeing in the house. If you think you may need specialist help i would speak to your vet and explain your problem as it could be a medical issue not behaviour, Has he had a bad experience with your/any back gardens? Just ask if you need any more information.

He will wee while out on a walk most of the time, and is given massive praise when he does, but just won't wee in the garden, it's really strange. He's not frightened of the garden, he's happy to be out there but just has no interest in weeing, he'll wait until he comes inside. We were hoping if he has a belly band on when he is indoors it may discourage him from weeing in the house.

Have you tried getting some turf or similar in the garden? I wouldn't be at all surprised if that's why he doesn't want to wee out there. Also, is there anywhere close to the house you can walk to that he can toilet, e.g. a grass verge? If so, it may help to take him there every hour(ish) rather than the garden.

Garden is paved which I suspected might be the issue... Although he will wee on the pavement while out walking so I don't know if it is that. Friend is the process of clearing all the shrubs out of one corner ready to lay some turf down in the hope that may help.
There's nowhere grassy outside the house that he could wee, he has a few 'favourite wee spots' in the neighbourhood but these are a good 10/15 min walk away so impossible to walk him there 7/10 times a day which is how often he wees at the moment.
