Recently at Stainforth, a few racers came off the track with their dogs claiming that they're dogs 'had been barged' 'knocked' etc. And yes they are 100% right, however there is few, if any dogs that set out to do this. From what I've seen bend racing is far different from straight racing, and the dogs are looking to the lure at the bend and not other dogs....I even heard someone say 'its a bit narrow', but they put six greyhounds round those bends.. (w00t)

I personally think, most good dogs will win, however, at times sometimes they won't, but very rarely is another dog to blame...

Does anyone feel differently?

Dogs do get more knocks when bend racing,you've only got to watch the greyhounds.

I would disagree / the first two dogs over the line in straight races if true lure dogs tend to hit the lure and stay with it--- then come the others fast finishing straight up the arse end of those two----- thats is why most times when you take your dog to the physio its the last six vertebrae-- that have the problems and require attention with bend racing it tends to be pulled or strains on muscles or ligaments due to the position of legs when running the bend track leg /split gracisas/or torn/ are a few if you go on greyhound injuries pages which you can get by asking jeeves there are plenty to see

STAINFORTH IS NOT A NARROW TRACK SOMETIMES LONG STRAIGHTS MAKE TRACKS APPEAR NARROW. I HAVE RACED AT MOST NGRC TRACKS , THE NARROWEST BEING THE SO CALLED TOP TWO WALTHAMSTOW AND WIMBLEDON. LOOK WHERE THE TRAPS ARE AT WIMBLEDON, ON THE EXIT FROM THE LAST BEND BECAUSE THE STRAIGHTS ARE TO NARROW TO FIT THEM ON OLSO THE REASON THEY HAVE TWO WINNING LINES 480 460

i dont understand,wimbledon have two finishing lines because they have a narrow track?-could you explain a bit further cheers.

SORRY IF I DIDNT MAKE MYSELF CLEAR. THE REASON FOR THE TWO WINNING LINES 20YDS APART IS BEACUSE THEY HAVE TO USE THE SAME SET OF TRAPS FOR THE 480 AND 460MTS RACES AS THE STRAIGHTS ARE TOO NARROW TO FIT ANOTHER SET ON
