Fantastic response to our worries about Artie's eating habbits, thank you all. We have decided to keep going with the running around with plastic bags shouting leave it approach!!! Doesn't stop us loving him though he is such a fantastic pup.

Here he is with our grumpy old Westie called Barley. He follows her around all the time. Artie always avoids any conflict and is a bit of a softie really. Is that quite a common trait with Lurchers around other dogs ??

Kate - Artie is gorgeous and looks like Zair in so many ways - you can definately tell that they are little brothers! Zair also avoids any conflict and hopefully it will stay this way! Lurchers are generally a very good tempered breed and seem to get on well with other dogs although in the past I have found that what does upset some other dogs is the speed with which lurchers race up to them to say hello or just their speed in general! I will try to get some pics of Zair this weekend for you to see the similarities in them.

Hey Peony - can you see Basil in these pups? I certainly can!

   Awwwwwwwww @ Basils babies! I was just thinking I ought to look out some photos I have of Basil at that age to show the similarities...............they do indeed remind me very much of him when he was a wee boy, all those years ago.

LOTS more pics of his kids please lol.

We were wondering how big Artie might get - how tall is Basil?

Kate & Ifti

Basil stands at about 27/28" dependant on his mood lol . I dont know if you can remember the size of Socks, but side by side, they were virtually the same height.

People always say Basil looks big, but to me he is the perfect size...........we live in a smallish house and he seems to fit into very tiny spaces lol.

Good luck with Artie, he is

We are expecting Zair to grow to about 28" or thereabouts - his knees are still VERY knobbly so he obviously has a lot of growing to do yet! Everyone who meets him comments that he looks like he is going to grow into a big lad - I hope so as I really want a dog over 24"!!

Peony - some pics of Basil as a pup would be fab so I can compare likeness to Zair! At what age was Basil fully grown in height?

Emily ................I am trying hard to remember how old Basil was when he reached this height and it seems to me the legginess arrived fairly early on, BUT he didnt 'furnish' until he was 3 years old! This of course makes him look a much bigger dog .................he now seems very solid and muscular, especially when I compare him now to pictures of when he was a young chap. Last time I weighed him prior to worming, he was just over 35kg ................. I dont know if that is deemed heavy or not lol.

I shall brace myself to get in the loft and look out some youthful pics soon :))

 I hope Artie grows over 24 inches. He certainly seems to have the potential to be a big dog - his ears & feet seem far to big for him!!!! V V V cute.

Exactly like Zair - his ears are so big at the moment that they often get pushed back inside out of their own free will!! He is also extremely leggy and gangly and so I am sure he is going to be pretty large!
