hi all! Newbie here!

So I have an almost 6 month old labradoodle, we started with the doodlebone harness and was fine until she got to big for it. I then got her the bigger size, but it seems that where it sits on her back it’s pulling at her hair and she’s got a shorter balding patch where it sits. Her skin is not damaged or raw, it’s simply her fur that’s being worn and shortened. So, the point to this post is to find out if there are harnesses out there that are suited for fluffy dogs to prevent this from happening?

Hi Murphy is fairly fluffy we use a truelove which doesnt rub. But I have to say you may try several types before you find one that suits

Thanks! Will have a wee look at that kind. I just feel for her and she’s all fluffy and has this wee patch that’s short and scruffy looking.

Have a look at Perfect Fit harnesses. They have a fluffy bit over the back which might help, and you can also buy the different components separately to get the (as in the name) perfect fit.

Thanks. Are they just online?

I don't know, to be honest - I haven't tried one, but have just heard good things about them. Their customer service is apparently really good though so they can help you choose the right size and if it doesn't fit, you can change the individual bits. This is the retailer: Home page

All my boy's use Indi dog harnesses and they are Brilliant! Especially if they pull as they have a front and back clip for your lead.
And they are also padded with fleece.

Murphy hasnt tried indi dog but he had another type with fleece padding the same as our old beagle Benny had. The problem is while Benny avoided all water Murphy is into anything deeper than a saucer and the fleece lined harness sags.
