I just wanted to say a big thankyou to Jayp - who it turns out lives less than 5 mins walk from me and who very kindly let me accompany her on her dog walk this evening. Jan has three beautiful whippet boys, although they are so closely marked Ive no idea how she tells them apart 
It meant that Jan could show me some of the places I can take my new pup for a walk, both on and off lead (Ive only just moved here) and I was able to see just what real life with a whippet (or three!) is all about. I think that the image of just a whippet head bouncing up in the long grass like zebedee will make me smile for ages just dont mention the black bulls in the field!!.... :- "
They are very beautiful dogs and considering they didnt know me at all, Travis was completely happy with having me on the end of his lead. Jan was able to give me lots of really useful tips and is going to lend me some books as well. Its also quite strange as Jan and I have the same name!!
Thanks again - and I just cant wait till I have Evie home and shes big enough to be seen over the grass!!
