BILLY

**UPDATED: JUNE 2012**

Say hello to the beautiful Billy! He is a 3 year old ex-racing greyhound with a black coat and a pretty white heart on his chest. He is a petite boy at just 26.5” to the shoulder and has a lovely, intelligent face with a quirky kink on the end of his tail.

~ Personality ~

Billy is a lovely, quiet boy who loves lots of attention and cuddles but doesn’t demand them from you. He is the perfect gentleman in all ways and is an absolute delight to spend time with. Billy’s quiet, easy going demeanour means he would be a good candidate for a fist time hound owner. Alternatively we feel he would slot very smoothly into an existing pack.

~ In the Home ~

Billy has moved into foster care just this week, so we will update with his progress very soon. This is his first time in a home environment, so he will need a week or two to settle and start to be himself. We can't wait for this lovely lad to discover the joys of sofa roaching, he is guaranteed to absolutely love the home life.

~ Other Animals ~

Billy has never put a foot wrong when meeting other dogs. He is polite and sociable, happy to meet dogs of all shapes and sizes. He is not suitable to live with cats, however.

~ Out and About ~

This lovely boy is a delight to take on a walk. He trots perfectly to heel and loves taking in all the sights of the world outside of racing kennels. He still has much of the world to see, but he is more than eager and it would be such a joy to show him how great life can be. Like most greyhounds, Billy is ultimately a lazy boy and does not need a huge amount of exercise. He will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch his legs offlead in a safe area once or twice a week.

~ Greyhounds as Pets ~

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

~ Where Am I? ~

Billy is currently in a foster home in Royston, Herts. He can be homed anywhere in the UK, but please note that you may be required to travel to his foster home to meet him.

~ Want To Adopt Me? ~

Billy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting Billy, please visit our website’s KERRY GREYHOUNDS UK[/B] ~~

Kerry Greyhounds UK is a small voluntary organisation that is based in Norfolk, England. It focuses on rehoming unwanted Irish greyhounds and lurchers, as huge numbers are bred in Ireland each year and homes are few and far between. KGUK operates through a network of volunteers spaced over Ireland and the UK. We can look after approximately 30 dogs at any one time in both kennels and foster homes.

Each dog is neutered, vaccinated, & microchipped before being adopted (unless stated otherwise).

We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in all corners of the UK.
