ive often heard people saying that their bitches get faster/find yards after having a season. was just wondering wot everyone thought? have u had a bitch that got faster after a season?

Ok sad sod that I am, I keep a database of my dogs racing times. :b Can't speak for non-peds but my peds just club race week in week out so they're running to a routine as it were. (i.e. they don't have weekend events, travelling distances and weight changes to contend with) My peddy bitch has had 2 seasons and both times leading up to it she's really picked up speed infact it's how I've predicted she's going to come into season as there's been no other possible reason for her finding time. She's finished her season about 6 weeks ago now, following it I gave her some runs but she's been much slower than her two brothers (about 6yards!) and last time she ran (Highgate) she seemed to be kicking her back leg out which would be consistent with Lolcoes post about laxity within the thigh muscles, this seems cosistent time wise with milk production which is due now so she's resting up again.

i,ve had bitches ( two)----in the past that get faster when they are just starting to come into season,,, there like flying machines 8) up to 6 yards somtimes (w00t)

never had a bitch that gets faster after a season,,,but have heard pll,s saying they have afterwards

Are you talking about 'any' season Carole or the bitches 'first ever' season?

Quite a few bitches become faster after their first ever season due to maturing-becoming an adult.....so to speak.

Any other season-should be at their peak again around 16th week onwards....as most are aware.
