whats peoples idea on times and lay offs for bitches

I think it depends on your bitch, some of ours have 4 weeks off and are fine but we have 1 in season at the moment who has 6 weeks off then comes back for 2 weeks then has to have another 4 weeks off because she just stops running. (w00t)

David-

This topic has been covered and recovered more times than I can remember-

so you could also check out past topics-maybe

All ours are in season :(

As Paula says each bitch is 'different'-and should be treat as such.

We've been lucky with Jessica her teats didn't swell or bruise at all, Talli is currently in about her 19th day (and still spotting :( ) her teats have really come up. Just wish she'd finish soon, she keeps winking at everyone ;)

got some good info today, roughly between 7to11 weeks. all the muscles relax as the body is preparing to have pups. racing at this time can be dangerous as could cause muscle/ligement and pelvis displacement so beware :(

r u meaning 7 to 11 weeks from the start of bleeding or the end of bleeding david?

My Megan bitch was mated 24 day's after i first noticed blood on her kennel coat.Kirsty's Greyhound bitch was 22 days in season, before she was mated to Mineola Farloe, and this was with the bitch being tested every day as to determine the best day to mate her.Megan had only one pup.Probibly because of a mixture of the days in season before being mated and her being almost 8 years old.
