went to town today to pay a bill to a company up in scotland who wed got some goods from.their bank is bank of scotland and as there isnt one in my town i went to my bank natwest to see if they couldn transfer funds to pay them.sorry no we cant do that youll have to go to the halifax who are bank of scotland now.went to the halifax which had a ruddy great big queue so went to the info desk first to enquire if i could do that as i didnt want to spend ages queuing up for nothing.the girl at the desk said yes i could, gave me an envelope with all boxes in it to be filled in and said fill them in, and give the money to the cashier.so filled all the details of the companys bank account, sort code etc etc and then queued up for 20 mins.only to be told i couldnt do it!grrrrrr!so i asked why they employ staff on their enquiry desk who dont know their job?no answer.so went back to the prat on the information desk and told her what i thought of her skills at giving out info.she went over to the girl cashier to check then came back and said i can only apologise.dont worry about it said i, ive nothing better to do that stand in a bloody queue here all day to be told youve given out the wrong info!aaaarrrrgggghhhh!im gonna hit someone!

JUST KEEP YOUR DOSH UNDER YOUR MATTRESS (w00t)

What the 'eck are they taking about!!!!

Between this and their sodding charges......

I cannot wait until the New Year when the ruling comes out from the High Court and then - if it goes the right way I will claim back for everything!!!!

At least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask when he was robbing you!!!!

Darned annoying !!! I worked at Barclays before I had my first baby and previous to that I had been trained in a Scottish Bank.

We had to learn everything before we were allowed to even meet the public....Therefore, by the time you became a cashier or on the help desk, you knew the answer to most things and knew how to deal with them.

When I came to Barclays I was astonished to find how lax the English Banks were. They just put anyone anywhere, whether they knew the job or not...Ridiculous !! People have the right to be treated with courtesy when they put their money in the bank and should have the confidence in the staff to deal properly with any transaction !!

(w00t) I`m off my soap box now !! By the way....I am English. I went to school in Scotland....they usually do things better than we do !!! :teehee:

My OH had a similar annoying incident today. The other day he tried to buy something over the phone using his Switch debit card. He went through all the usual stuff but when they asked him for the 3 security numbers off the back of the card, he realised that the little numbers had all worn away. So he wasn't able to buy whatever it was :- " (

Anyway, he went into the bank on Monday & they told him he had to go home again & phone his business manager.

So he did just that.

What a palaver, they did all the usual security stuff, including asking for the numbers on the back, even tho he's just told them he couldn't read them anymore

20 minutes later they told him they couldn't issue him with a new card but they would send one as a replacement for his old one :teehee: Huh???

So we'll wait & see what turns up. And hope it does turn up in time for him to re order whatever it was he was ordering :- "

go annoy razzle for a bit , that will cheer you up (w00t)
