Hi,
I have a 6 year old male Jack Russell, who had surgery in May for bladder stones. He has been fine since & then last week started Urinating blood. Vet tested a small sample of red urine & said he had a bacterial infection & crystals present in his urine. Due to having stones in May the advised him being sedated & having a scan. This was done yesterday, we were gutted as they found another stone - pea sized & some smaller ones. So they operated again, I am no so worried that it will re-occur & he will need more surgery & there’s only so many times he can have his bladder operated on. Has anyone else experienced this - any advice would be greatly appreciated, my little dog is my world.

I don't have experience and this is something you should check with your vet, but I have a friend who has a Dalmatian and they are very prone to crystals and stones. She feeds her dog a low purine diet, and encourages her to drink a lot (I find the best way to do that is to add a spoonful of water from a can of tuna in spring water - not brine or oil -to my dog's bowl; not all the time because I want it to stay special).

This is about Dalmatians but may have something helpful, even if it's just to raise questions to ask your vet.
