TODAY THE LANDLORD OF THE JOLLY FRIAR GAVE THE WHIPPET CLUB 24HOURS TO VACATE ITS TRACK.

THEREFOR UNTIL WE FIND ANOTHER TRACK WE HAVE NO OPTION BUT TO CANCEL ALL FUTURE EVENTS UNTIL YOU HERE DIFFERENTLY.

I WOULD BE VERY GREATFULL IF YOU COULD SPREAD THE WORD AROUND TO NONE PC RACERS.

THANKING YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP AND ASSISTANCE IN THE PAST.

Sorry to hear that we cant race at blidworth any more Geoff

HI john and Ron' what a shame we knew there had been trouble with the landlords before but never thought it would come to this

They havent given you much notice have thay?

lets hope you can find somewhere else soon

I am really sorry for a club that has been going this long

seems there will be nowhere to race in the future

Hope Bildworth WRC get's sorted with new grounds soon :luck:

We thought it may come to this with this landlord who is in place now, so we have been active in searching for a new track for some months now and the news we have recieved sounds most promising. It is hoped we shall be up and running in the new year at a new track, and all will be welcome to this track as if it was the old club track.

Sorry to hear of this John :( what a shame we have lost this track :(

thats such a shame blidworth is one of my fave tracks :(

:( not another Im so sorry, there lose John I hope a new bigger and better track comes up for Blidworth wrc.

GOOD LUCK :luck:

Yes what a selfish and ignorant **** that bloke is  . Best of look Ron and john. If you need any help just let us know.

Anthony

Sorry to hear the bad news about the track - hope things go well with sorting a new track - Good Luck from the Manton crew :)

Any reason given John, as this might just help fellow racers regarding thier own position regarding, what not to do, and what to do in order to keep thier own club open.

The only gripe this landlord made to us was that the racers never frequented his pub, this of course is a complete and utter fabrication of the truth, as we all know that whippet racing and drinking seems to go hand in hand and that at open events the pub was always well used as it was on club days.

The landlord is an Idle bar steward who would not put on food of any kind and being as he was a paid manager, he would be paid whether they served one pint or 500 pints, he was content not to serve any at all. Customers including whippet racers were a distraction he could do without and he made that clear on a number of occations.

If he is only a manager have you tried going direct to the brewery, if you are affilliated to the BWRA part of the role of the top table is to help negotiate with local councils etc; might be worth a try if only to put this guy in hs place

Unfortunately Linda, the man waited until the father of his spouce brought the lease on the pub and it was then out of the brewries hands, and also whats the point of trying to run a club with an arsehole like him on your back every second, one of his joys was to wait until all the whippets were about and then take out his staffy type dog without a lead so it could bite a whippet, Kath and Dennis from Maltby can confirm this having had ONE MORE Bitten. I am sure we will be better off at another ground.
