Winston is about 10 years old and blind. He has recently come into rescue from a situation where he has been badly neglected. His coat was so matted it had to be clipped under sedation :(

I met this little lad this morning, and despite all he's been through he hasn't got a bad bone in his body. He seems to love everybody he meets, and has settled with the other dogs in his foster home with no problems at all.

Huge thank you to Greyhounds R Us (http://www.greyhounds-r-us.co.uk/index.htm ) for taking this lad on and finding him a foster home. Everything crossed now that he can find a quiet retirement home where he can put the past behind him

He certainly looks a lot better now  He is very Bedlington like, not much cross in there I think. How big is he, do you know? Do you want me to ask Beddy rescue if they can help, I'm a member of 2 beddy clubs. What area is he being fostered in?

If it weren't for my mean, mean hubby I'd have him like a shot :- "

oh , bless him . dosnt he deserve a super home . Good luck with him :luck:

well he certainly looks and will be feeling much better after that clip

hope he finds a forever home soon  :luck:

Interesting you say that - his previous owner said he was pure Beddy, but of course it was hard to tell what he was under all that matted coat. I thought his head and jaw weren't quite right for a Beddy but it's not a breed I know at all well so you may well be right. :)

Thank you for the offer to contact Beddy welfare - as he's now in the care of GRUS and in a very good foster home that he's settled in I doubt they'd want to move him, but I'm sure they'd appreciate any publicity Beddy welfare could give to help him find a home. He's being fostered in Cirencester, Gloucestershire.

He really is a lovely natured little lad, I'd have been happy to foster him myself but I live very near his previous home, and for various reasons it is much better that he's out of the area. :- "

Poor little fellow - I cannot understand how his owners could have let him get into such a terrible state.  He must feel so much better now.

Good luck in finding him a new home. :luck: :luck: He looks such a sweetie.

Poor little man, what an awful mess he was. He does look a very handsome boy now though. :luck: Hope he gets a nice new loving and caring home, he really deserves one.

Good luck, poor little man. :luck: :luck:

How can people do that  to an older dog too!!

I hope he finds a nice place to spend his years, glad to know he is still happy after all hes been through

Without any prompting at all from me, my mean mean hubby :- " asked about Winston today. He says he's been thinking about him all day (w00t) Then he said, but we're NOT having him. No I said, we're NOT.....reverse psychology I think it's called. A few more days of me saying NO should do it :- "

I do hope someone else offers to give him a home tho, I don't really need another dog atm. But that's never stopped me before :b

Lol, I like the reverse psychology plan, sounds foolproof to me

I'll be waiting for news....... :- "

hope you can persuade him, fingers crossed :luck: :D reverse psychology, hmmmm ill have to try that! :- "

That's us out then, it says he needs a quiet household. to be really honest I think we have too many dogs & cats for him to cope with. Hebe & Scrumpy would be fine but I'm sure Rafferty would bully Winston. He can be quite a dominant dog in the house and poor Winston wouldn't even be able to see him waiting to pounce :(

As much as I'd love to offer him a home I know ours probably isn't the best he could get.

Please let someone take him soon

Bedlingtons are such lovable little dogs (when they are not being little  s that is)

That's a shame, it would have been lovely for him to go somewhere where I would see some updates on him. I really am very taken with this little lad, but likewise I think our household is too busy for him :(

He'd make a fantastic companion for an older person who had lots of time to spend with him - he's so affectionate he'd repay any attention tenfold

Winston has now found a brilliant home in the North of Scotland with doggy friend and a beach on his doorstep. His new owners were prepared to drive all the way to Gloucestershire to pick him up!

I'm over the moon for this little lad :D

awwww what a great ending!!! so pleased for him :huggles:
