A friend has asked me to inquire into the success of black and blue whippets in the show ring. Could someone give a brief summary of the number of blue or black championes and the present situation of blues and blacks. Thanking you, Regards, Stephen

Hi, I am new to showing whippets, but I always wanted a blue whippet and I was told that they never did very well, but as I have been getting out and about the very few that I have seen at shows have done no worse than any body else. I opted for a blue brindle instead, so I got my blue in one way or another.

I have been showing a pair of blacks this year and they done OK. 16 firsts at Championship shows, including a best puppy in breed. At other shows they have had a best in show, a res best in show and best of sex at breed club shows. I do find that on the whole they do better under whippet specialists than allrounders.

Thank you for your replies. A photo of Salvador´s blue whippet can be seen on his web-site http://www.caballoandaluz.net together with photos of our most recent and last litter. This blue whippet was acquired in France, I believe XR Chambord. Regards, Stephen
