Had Bobo at vets again today as there was an awful smell coming from the stookie. There was an infection inside the leg on the elbow where the stookie was rubbing. She has now had the stookie removed and x-rays shows the bones haved fused back together. Great News she will not lose the leg. She is on quite alot of tablets and other medication due the infection on the elbow but the outlook is fantastic. She will always have a limp and the leg might look a bit strange but that does not matter. She will just need regular check-ups until the infection has healed and then that should be it. The smell when I have to change the dressing is stomach-wrenching but worthwhile. Vet bill far exceeded what we had first thought (not going to say cost as it might put people off getting the treatment), but she is more than worth every penny.
