Hi all

We have a Border Collie bitch who is now five years old and we have had her approx two years.

She has been a working farm dog before we acquired her.

We love her to bits but she has a habit of rubbing herself especially around the neck in muck ( smelly muck )

Can anyone please help.

Regards

Hampson

No help I'm afraid. It's an instinctual dog thing and some have it far stronger than others. Best I can offer is a recommendation of Plush Puppy Wonder Wash which is a self-rinsing dog shampoo (so no needing to hose down outside you can just use this). I first used it in the thought I would get the worst off before bringing my girl through the house to the tub after a particularly disgusting roll in fox muck. A couple df applications and it cut right through it and she didn't even need a bath. We relied on it forever after that

Mine roll in all kinds of poo, fox, bird, cat, deer, badger, that's just what they do I have accepted, however I am going to buy the shampoo Chelynnah has recommended as I have tried every type/scent available to remove the odour and been un successful so thank you for the tip :flowers:

It was brilliant. Prior to that I'd had the most success using washing up liquid as fox poo is so greasy. It's not the healthiest for the dog, but the only thing that really cut through it
