BOXER
Boxer is a 1 year old greyhound boy who has been handed in to us as his owner has to go to hospital. He has never raced due to an injury he sustained early in life, and has been kept as a pet up until now. He is a handsome young boy with a red brindle coat and an adorable little face.
Boxer is a loving, gentle young dog who is full of fun and games. He has been well treated and adores being around people, being very affectionate with a big waggy tail. He has a kind, friendly nature and is a joy to be around. Boxer loves his daily walks, and is very well behaved on the lead, never pulling or jumping about. His previous injury now poses no problems at all for him, and he is a happy, active young fella.
Boxer is very good with other dogs of all sizes, and his favourite thing in the world is a game of chase. He would do brilliantly in a fairly active home with another dog or two to romp with in the garden. He enjoys his toys and would do equally well in a home with children to play with him and teach him fetch. He has not been cat tested yet but this can be carried out prior to adoption.
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
Boxer is currently being kennelled in Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. Please note that adopters will need to travel to our nearest collection point. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
If you are interested in fostering or adopting Boxer, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our adoption application form and information pack. Thanks!
