I have been envolved in breeding animls, professionally, and as a hobby for more han 30 years.

When I first got into whippets (6 years ago), I was encouraged by many peple who had been on the scene longer than me.

I am VERY dissappointed at the reaction which I have had in coursing and especiallly racing competitions.......discuss.

ENVY... how much part does it play?????????????????

On the bragging note John :) congrats to you and Sue on Sue H's 3rd at the Whippet Club Show. My brain has gone dead on me and I can't remember what he's called. Feather's McGraw is his racing name can't think of his pet name.

 nothing to do with racing or coursing on a field except the breeding and the show class.

Harry?

Thanks for that, Beejay.......Barney came 2nd at Crewe last year when we showed him 8) ......He needs too much "condition" for showing, whilst we are coursing him, etc.....I have thought that in a couple of years, when he has done whatever he is going to do coursing and racing, we may fatten him up and make a proper effort in the show ring.....Twisters' ears seem as if they are going to remain in a verticle position, indefinately, now :b ...We're a bit surprised because, as far as we know, all the others have good ears......she is nearly 8 months old now.

Photo Finish (Barney) has now won 13 courses out of 15 which he has run under rules this season...I have entered him in 2 more meetings this season.....I think that he has a real chance of finishing up in the top few coursing dogs, on points in the N.W.C.C....very exciting BRAG, BRAG. (w00t)

I'm looking forward to the Bend Racing Champs on the 18th June......I'm hoping to have Twister racing by then, Barney will be entered, and Piper will be in the vets.....although have I read that there won't be any vets at that meeting?...We may have to wait for the straight for her.

He's done well for you John .........You'll only be able to run Piper at the straight champs as they only have 2 vets ch meetings each year .......Its a shame that the vets are only allowed to run a max of 150 yards straight even at opens..... (a tad unfair for the longer distance oldies IMHO :) )
