It's about a 12 hour drive to Brisbane from Mackay. I'm stopping at my parents' place on the way down to drop off a couple of dogs (so I don't have them all to look after for the whole time) then I'm doing two shows on the 5th & 6th as well as my judging exam. Then I have a day to 'relax', then I'm showing my friend's Labrador at the Labrador National, then another day or two break and then I'm flying home to video a wedding on the 12th (couldn't get out of that, it was booked 12 mths ago), Mum & Dad are coming down to Brisbane to look after my dogs while I'm gone, then I'm flying back on the 13th, show the whippets at the Royal on the 14th, then driving back with Mum & Dad who live two hours north of Brisbane to stay with them for a couple of days and see my brother and his family, and then head on back home. (Unless of course I win something fantastic at the Royal  (w00t) and then I have to stay in Brisbane til the 19th for the finals.)

The Brisbane Royal is the biggest show in our state Caroline. It's our state Agricultural Show with cattle, horses, goats, pigs etc etc and all the 'arts' like photography painting cooking sewing etc, plus all sorts of entertainment - concerts, fireworks, stunt cars, sideshow alley with carnival rides, showbags ad infinitum. It goes for 10 days.

Dino and Aime have never been to an indoor, benched show with major crowds like the Royal before - I have no idea how they will react. Fingers crossed they will just take it in their stride.

Hey Lana,

I am doing the brisbane royal too but unfortunately paddy misses out as he is still in baby so i am flying down wednesday and showing the cresties on thursday then flying home friday. Then we are driving back to brisbane on the 19 august for the toy speciality for my cresties as well as the gundog and heavy breeds show for paddy on the 20 august at durack. Are you doing that too? I hope to meet a few whippet people there... as i am new to the breed...

Oh Lana... are you doing Sarina 5 and 6 august?

Hope to see you there...

Cassie

So you have shaved "it"? :- "

Hi Lana,

The numbers should arrive any day I got mine last week. I have entered my four. Come and say hello. I will be easy to find, I am always the one curled up a sleep on the bench.

Jill

Cartman, I'm travelling with my truest friends in the world .... the whippets!

Jill ... asleep on the bench ... that's pretty much my style too. I will certainly say hello, but if I find you asleep I promise not to wake you!

Cassie - no, not doing Sarina, will be in Brisbane then.

Numbers arrived today - woohoo!

Dino is in Intermediate Dog and is 1462 and Aime is in Aust Bred Bitch and is 1479 so there are 16 dogs between them in two dog and four bitch classes, so I'm guessing there might be about 25 - 30 whippets all up?
