Hi I've adopted a Romanian dog in the last month. The vet is saying that a high percentage of Romanian imports prove positive for Brucellosis and have to be put down. Anyone had this experience as I now have to wait and have blood tests for her etc but am worried sick now.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I've no experience of this, but really hope she turns out to be clear. How long will you have to wait for the results?
In the meantime, just in case she has to be euthanased, do everything you can to ensure that her days are filled with love, joy, and a feeling of safety. And please do let us know how it goes.

My current dog who we have had for 3 months and 1 week tomorrow is also a Romanian rescue. As @JoanneF said, a lot of rescue centres test before rescuing, and my dog was tested like this and although they had the paperwork to prove it, forgot to send it 
Our vet wasn't concerned, but recommended another test in a year's time. Since then we had a photo of the test paperwork.
Our previous rescue dog, Jimmy, was from Croatia. We hadn't heard of Brucellosis until he became ill with cancer and might have had to have surgery. The specialist vet insisted on a test, which came back negative thankfully. He also mentioned euthanasia if it was positive, and you can imagine my reaction to that. My understanding from this was that because this disease can affect humans, he made a comment if we can accept the risk that's up to us (we would have). So, perhaps a positive test isn't as bad as it sounds, but I suppose you might have problems with vets providing services to you. I'm not a vet, and this is all based on my understanding which may be way off.
I'd go back to the rescue ASAP centre and ask them, if they say they've tested and it's negative, see if they can send you evidence.
