I have a 3/4 pup,who is showing sign's of the old bull blood, that was used years ago in the breeding prosess. His eyes would go all bloodshot and bulge out when he gets fired up,the way the Staffy goes.Ive only ever had this once before,in a wee pup,and that was Megan, the wee bitch i have at the moment, who is over 8 years old.She still goes like this when she kills a rabbit or see's a cat,or whatever. The pup i have also has a bully head. Both these bloodlines go back to Stagnight. Is this normal with this line. The pup is only 3 1/2 months old and gets realy fired up something serious for no reason. He was the runt of the litter, but is now the biggest of the 4 ive kept ,and is rock solid. He has that look in his eye ,that tells you, beware ive got teeth.Anyone experienced this..

I wouldn't define this as ''bull blood'' coming through, sounds more to me like your dog is just getting psyched up when her adrenalin kicks in. The eye change is probably because of the protective lens dogs have and an increased blood flow that's going on at the time she's excited. Mine does this and I've seen others do it too although it does appear more obvious in dogs that have black around the eyes.

Thing is ,he's 3 1/2 months old,has a head like a pitbullx, and is all musled up.When he wants to be aggresive, the whites of his eye's almost disapear.Ive had staffy's,years ago that went like this.Ive had WhippetxGreyhounds for the past 20 odd years.Worked them on everything, and i mean everything.Only since i brought in new blood from England 9 years ago have i seen this.My own line held nothing back in the do or die side of things, but were never this aggresive as pups. The rest of the litter are ok,and dont show any of these charicteristic's at all.I also have one pup of almost the same age .Out of the same father to my old bitch, who also showed these charicteristic's,but the pup is gangly and looks nothing like the others,in the other litter. He looks just like Cornish Bob,and his brother Jack,in shape. So if he can run like them,i'll be well pleased.

From what I understood there's certain physical traits to bully dogs but temperment hasn't been an issue mentioned by owners. You'd probably be better posting a picture of the dog concerned to let members with equivicable experience as yourself comment. :)

Eyup Billy would have replied earlier but been out most of the day, the way you describe this pup reminds me of a bitch we have, our Ginny .She looks like a leggy staffy.

Up to her being 6 months old she was very aggresive ,and when she was fired up her eyes stuck out like chapel hat pegs :D and sometimes when you was giving her a close up cuddle she would try to snap at your face, but a slap across her snout  put that right. By the time she was 12months old she was a lovely natured bitch and very submissive to her litter sister Maisy.

Their breeding is whippet x greyhound x whippet greyhound x greyhound saluki.

Will try to post a picture of her asap

I wouldnt put it down as bad luck,Gary.Cause the pup is also very long, and resembles a wee power house. The best WhippetxGreyhounds ive had were also wee power houses, but they didnt look that way until they were racing age,and well conditioned. But it took a lot of miles,on the road and up the gallop to get them looking like this boy looks now. He's like a pup on steroids or summit, seriously. And if he stays under 23 he just might be a goodun.Thinking back to his dad, when Billy Craig had him,he thought the dog was to well built,to be any good ,and sold him to a mate of mine. The first time i seen him ,he was 10 months old,and pretty heavy looking. But i could see there was something special about the wee dog, that no one else could see.To cut a long story short. He wo the All Ireland Under 23 racing 3 years in a row, only ever getting beaten twice in his carear. Then he was sold and never raced again. He is the bro of Scr Ch Minster rocket. There's a couple of pretty useful looking pups in this litter, even a dark brindle.(Heard you liked these)

Was'nt to keen on Miss Ellie ,didnt think she could run.Molly wasnt too bad.But they've thrown some crackers of pups, especialy Molly. And when Graham had her over here, you would never have thought to look at her that she would even be worth keeping ,let alone breeding pups from her.But the doggy world is a funny place, and we can be proved wrong so many times.Good luck with any future breeding plans, and with racing in 2007.

Ginny 4

this is what happens to her head, with keep slapping her across her snout LOL

Ginny was raced in the non ped for 2 seasons.Didn't win as much as I'd like to have with her,but she always tried 100%.The most memorable race which comes to mind was at the English Derby afew years back against the great Micky Whizz, owned by Pete & Carole.she lost in a photo finish :(

She is now retired at nearly 7 along with her sister Maisy and their mum Milly 12 yrs ps she stood 22" and weighed 51lbs

This is exactly what he looks like geoff, but a good bit longer. He's marked like a collie, with the 4 white socks n that. There's a bitch marked the same, and i think she's class looking.Realy long racey body, and should stay under 23.If she turns out as good as i think she should,i am going to gave her a crack in the none peds,as thats the one regret ive always had.Especialy wiyh yhe Tarn bitch,as she was 4 before i even made it to Chatsworth. And the pups i bred from Cornish Bob's bro,Jack, were also doing times equivelant to those in the none peds.So before the good LORD calls me away, this is what id like to do.Anyway Geoff, good luck for the coming season, although i dont believe in luck. ...Billy...

Billy forget to mention her 2 sisters came over 2 Ireland 2 a chap called Eddie McKinstry. If you know of him could you find out what became of them.

We some how lost touch with him.

Geoff. This asshole, cause thats what he was, bought a WhippetxGreyhound+ColliexGreyhound pup from me just a year before he bought those two from you.He also kept racing pigeon's.I think he should have stuck with racing pigeon's.Anyway i remember these two well,he had one and give his mate one,but to tell you the truth Geoff, they couldnt run.One of them reached the odd final, qualifying in maybe 3rd place or summit. But as far as i remember ,"naw"they were no good. They were about ,the same time as Miss Ellie was here and even she was beating them well.Sorry if this disappoints,Geoff, but i dont tell porkies about dogs, cause there's no point as youre almost always caught out.Even Mark has found this out.All the best. ...Billy...

Ps .That was a bad bit of news that STORMY got.I realy feel for him, cause he dote's on those dogs of his...

:D Thats why I let them come over 2 Ireland ;) one of them was very Bully and the other one made only 20 1/2," think one was called dot.
