Well, what a strange day today turned out to be!!!

We took Ellie (Mossbawnhill She's Eleqtric at Salatini) off to the Camberley Open Show.

A fair entry of 28 whippets, judge Karen Fisher (Rusweis), i beleive Saluki's & Hounds?

Anyway Ellie had a fab day winning both Best Puppy in Breed & BOB.

In between waiting for BIS & BPIS we found a little terrier like chappie running loose around the car park in & out of the road. We finally managed to catch him & get him on a lead,he had an id tag with an address but no telephone number, so we took him into the show & made enquiries.

Huge thanks to a lovely lady in whippets (sorry dont know your name) who very kindly with her friends left the show & on their way home drove to the address to try & find the owners whilst we took care of the little chap back at the show.

Finally some teenage children arrived at the show with a lead to say that it was their Grandpa's dog & he must of escaped so took the little fella back off home, so thankfully all ended well.

Thought our drama for the day was over until in the midst of BPIS judging all the fire alarms went off & we all had to evacuate the building

After standing outside in the cold for what seemed like an eternity with the alarms still going off a decision was made to finish the judging in the middle of the car park (w00t)

Not ideal with cars packing up & going off home & a football match going on but the best the poor show officials could do given the circumstances

Poor Ellie was now frozen to the bone but managed to make the final cut of i think 6? for BPIS.

All in all, quite an adventure of a day & she has now totally zonked out

:huggles: Well done to the clever Ellie

Thanks Wendy

It was VERY long day (w00t)

I dont know who feels more shattered me or Ellie

Been looking at your lovely coursing piccy's, now that looks like fun

I know nothing about it & would be dead scared Ellie would do her normal "bolting off".

Is it in an enclosed area OR can badly misbehaved girls like Ellie run off never to be found?

Would love to know a bit more about it

 WELL DONE ELLS & NINA!!

I bet it's the first time you've had a show in the car park

Ellie's Mum & brother and sister are dead proud of her

Don't know where Millie is at the mo so I'll answer!!

It is always held in a securely fenced field (usually fields that would normally have livestock in them anyway) because we have all sighthounds running so there will be loose Afghans and Salukis (w00t) that take some catching on occasions!!!

It is a very good day out and the hounds absolutely love it so we would love to see you there.

PS Well done for today!!!

Thanks for this, it really sounds like good fun, although the thought of The Krays loose (w00t) , blimey we'd all be there all day trying to catch them.

Think i would have better luck with Ellie, will get the details from you of where & when & would love to give it a go.

Forgot to say that they can't compete until they are 12 months old but meetings are held every month March - October and you could trial a hound coming up to 12 months, just to see how they take to it.

Well maybe i could trial Ellie then as she is 11 months & Holly could come & spectate as she is only 5 and a half months.

Do i need to get anything in advance like muzzles etc? Not sure if all the dogs run together or in pairs or singular.

Only ever done the Affie racing & that was great put the Krays in with my IG & whippet, the IG won hands down, the Krays danced all round the track & the whippet looked at the lure, looked at me & said "Get a life" & walked off the track (w00t)

Can you tell me where it is held? Is it a permanent site or all different locations?

Sorry to be a pain :p

Well done for your win with Ellie .

Sorry I didn't get back to you........... some of us had to work :(
