I'm just wondering if anyone can recommend a pop up kennel for us to use when we take the dogs camping? I have seen a few online but would prefer to buy one on recommendation as some aren't cheap by the looks of things. I have seen some cheap ones on croft online but I can't tell if they are just little shelters or if they do actually zip up (I will send them an email if no one has any experience of them). We use a soft crate at home but it can be a bit fiddly to put up/down and I'm also wanting a pop up one which we can store permanently in the car for travel use. Any ideas?

if thers any chance your dog might tryand get out dont go for the pop up mesh and fabric ones it took one of mine 5 seconds to trsh hers. get a fold down metal crate I know tere heaver but if you put it at the bottom of your boot and pile everything elas on top there only a couple of inches wide folded. take a blanket or shet to throw over to stop drafts and your sorted and the dogs safe

Thanks for your reply :) We have got an old metal crate in the shed which we could resurrect if these pop up crates are too thin. The thing with the metal one is the annoying rattling in the back of the car - drives us insane! The dogs aren't particularly destructive unless there is a duvet involved, in which case Lenny will shred to his hearts content, but I don't want to waste my money if they are flimsy. They have never so much as chewed the fabric crate which we have at home but that is quite sturdy I suppose.

if you contact beaker onn k9, she uses a soft pop up one thats also strong.

[for our english bull we had a cadge with a canvas cover made for it cant remember where we got but it was on the internet or if u have someone handy with a woodsaw using a bit of ply wood and some corner barackets it is not hard to make 1 that comes apart

get the whippets in your sleeping bag with you, especially in britain, only thing that would warm you up in the british summer time!

 I can't deal with whippets in bed - especially Molly who seems to lose the ability to bend her legs at all whilst sleeping :D and she is so boney and tends to stick her little legs in any soft part of my body she can find  I have actually been mulling over the idea of getting Molly her own little kids sleeping bag as the girl does love her little home comforts so I don't think she'll take to camping very well! Lenny will be fine, he loves crates and he'll lay down anywhere - he is very low maintenence unlike Miss Molly :p
