I am doing a city and guilds dog grooming course and we have been asked to draw just an out line of 7 breeds westie poodle springer spaniel few others. what i mean a very simple drawing but i cant do it. have to have side view front view and rear view. I have to draw on the drawing the clipping lines.

Any one up for it??

I have tried but the dogs in the dog books have coats in the way. i just ned the shape of the breed so i can add the detail

I think you are worrying too much. Just say if you have to draw the outline of an old English Sheepdog, trace a short coated dog, like a labrador or something. I am sure they just want some outlines to then work with, like a blank canvas. Dont worry, YOU can do it!

The National Bedlington Terrier Club have a rough grooming chart of a Bedlington, if they cant help you Shirley Davis (Honeymist.co.uk) has the original that she lent me when i was doing my City and Guilds course.

You need good reference photos to trace from, preferably to a similar scale. An encyclopedia of dog breeds might be good (libraries usually have these), or those posters that came free with the Guardian. If you have good pics to work from it will be easy. I only have books full of whippets who just need a wipe with a chamois once a week, so a tracing of one of those will be of no use to you at all! Good luck with it! whippet woman
