can anybody help please ? got 10 mth old puppy that will not chase .....any advise PLEASE.

run around the garden with anything raggy on a piece of string, laugh and jump around like an idiot and make your pup think thats it's a blast to do this!

and when he/she does start to play with it let him/her WIN it off you! this has worked with mine, good luck!!

he,s fine in the garden with his toys and rabbit skin ...its when he gets on the track .. thx anyways

Give him time he's still only a baby, your patiance will be rewarded.

See if you are allowed to attach his fav toy to the lure. Make sure that he knows that his toy is on it.

You could also try a predator lure which squeaks as it goes up the track.

If he is chasing at home but not on the track then it might be just that he is not used to the atmosphere at the track yet. Don't despair, its not uncommon. Just keep taking him to the track and letting him watch for a few weeks and one day he will probably start to get excited. Let him watch the other dogs at the trap end and at the finish so he can see what they are all so excited about. Try playing with him at the track with a toy like you do at home so that he gets the idea that it is really no different. He will probably come round in the end although it might take a bit of patience but it will be well worth it in the end. :D

*agrees* perseverance is the key ... just don't let him get bored - if he thinks he is MEANT to be having fun, he probably will :)
