Hi everyone.

Im currently looking to give a lovely lurcher a lovely home. Im looking for any sort, any sex, any colour and between the age of 1-2 years.

The only problem is i cant afford to pay rescue homes or private sellers any money. So basically i am looking for a free lucky lurcher to love in Scotland.

Does anyone know of one?

The reason i am asking is my greyhound was dog-napped when i was living in South Wales and it is so so lonely without a four legged friend. I have always had a lurcher or greyhound and i cant live without them.

Thanks

Oh no i just read what i had written and it looks like i cant afford a dog. What i meant to say was i cant afford to pay out large sums of money in one go.

The dog i get will be insured so i wont have to pay out large vet bills (hopefully never needed). As for food, shelter and love i have that in unlimited supply.

Thanks

Seems she may be rehousing, if she wants good homes perhaps she will let you have one for free???

Most rescues ask for a very modest donation for their dogs. For that, from a good rescue you will get a dog who has been neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and their temperament assessed to make sure they are suitable for your circumstances. The rescue will also take responsibility for that dog for life, and will take it back should your circumstances ever change.

The donations don't even begin to cover the cost of the vet bills they incur, all of which you may have to pay for yourself if you rehome privately - and none of which will be covered by insurance.

If you take a 'free' dog from a private rehoming you have no back up and no guarantee that an owner wanting rid of a dog has told you the whole truth about their health or temperament.

If you can afford an insurance premium, why not save that amount up for a few months and take a rescue dog?
