I'm looking to buy a harness for Molly whippet, trouble is she is very small and skinny (fully grown).

Can anyone recommend one to me, possibly IG size (her fishtail collar is for an IG).

Has anyone had any experience of using harnesses with whippets? Also, has anyone successfully used a halti head collar? Molly may be small but she is a tremendous puller (w00t) I have read loads of books and tried to train her properly but I think that because I let her get away with it when I first got her she has got into a habit.

So anyway, I'm guessing that a harness may be better for her neck. Any ideas??

Hi Jezza,

Ive used a halti, worked really well for me no longer need it on, just have a fishtail collar now, but it did the trick and stopped the constant pulling, they rub their nose for a bit when they first start to get used to it, but she soon associated it with a nice walk.

The only harness i use on mine is the car safety one, and they are adjustable, but i assume you mean the walking one.

I bought a reflective harness for my two small for Macey and medium for Byron. Both adjustable.

Small Reflective harness

They are brilliant and can be used with a lead. I have no problem with them.

By the way Macey is tiny, 16lb ish.......

Hmm My first post has just disappeared.

I use this harness with Whizz. I was advised to get him a harness by a very good greyhound vet.

Hannah (Strike Whippets) told me about them, she has used them with her dogs and reccomended them.

Harness

They are fleece covered on the bit that goes around the neck/shoulders and also underneath the dog. They are adjustable. Whizz is a short but very stocky build of whippet.
