Hi all. can whippet x greyhounds race at warwick? How would i go about it

if its a B.W.R.A meeting or a N.N.W.R.F meeting u wud need to be registered. your dog wud have had to have raced against other dog b4 too. u wudnt be able to race if u had not been in with another dog. hopefully someone will b able to tell u more than i can.

we have collie greyx vivs quest pup we run at blidworth we have done quite well againts wippets shes16 months now we was going to run her on the bends but shes in season so will wait to next year

At Kirkacldy in the mid 80s there was a lurcher that raced with the wHippets, mainly cos non peds Whippets are luchers.

as long as it had its injections, the kirkcaldy whippeteer,s had no problem with a lurcher racing once it had its passes.

But that was then, there shouldnt be a problem as long as the club you want to race at keep a open mind.

I think rather than just go to an open and want to race, you need to find a club local to yourself and start off there, by all means turn up at Warwick and have a trial to see if your dog will chase etc, if it goes round fine maybe someone will give you a run with their dog but i doubt you'll be allowed to race when you're dog isn't proven.
