Tonight we have bought a caravan for holidays with the dogs and staying for the weekend at champ shows that are a bit further from home.

I was filling in the entry forms for Blackpool champ show and saw the caravan booking form. It says on the form

UP TO 7 NIGHT £45

Does anyone know if this is just a deposit or is this the full cost. We would only actually be staying for 2 nights Friday and Saturday as my OH and Ben would have to be back for work and school respectively on the Monday I am on holiday from work from the Thursday before the show starts for 2 weeks but wouldn't go up early on my own as its a long time since I've towed a caravan.

The caravan does comply with the rules- chemical toilet and fire extinguisher- plus loads of other things that we have had with it. We hope to be able to use it localy for a weekend just to make sure of were things are ect. although the caravan is coming complete even down to cups plates toaster it is literally ready to go

Hi, I think this is the full price as at these shows not many facilities are provided. Basically a field and running water. I went to Leeds 2 years ago and paid only the amount on the entry. If you are there for only 2 nights, one of the caravan club CL sites might be a better bet (only my personal preference). Although its nice to be on site, sometimes the sites are very noisey and people have generators going etc. As an age old caravanner, have you thought of joining the caravan club, its gives access to loads of sites. Very often CL (certified locations) are on farms and they only have 5-6 vans and can be really nice and sometimes have WC and shower too. Hope this may help.

I recommend Caravan Club CL Sites - usually great locations and very few other caravans. :)

I can't offer any advice but I can say that I'm very jealous, your caravan sounds fab!!

I bought a caravan last year ,and now we make the Bounemouth and wales show our holiday . This year we are going to Windsor to .

We had great fun Yes some of the facilities arnt too brill ,but we have a shower and loo in the van.

I am a member of the Caravan club ,but to be honest ,I paying out more every month for that than it cost to stay at the shows . imo and when I wanted to go to a site for a weekend it became quite expencive.
