Carpal Hyperextension

as anyone had a whippet or greyhound with carpal hyperextension,and what was the outcome.my 5 months old whippetfell from a wall,she is seeing a orthopaedic vet on wenesday again,he put her in a splint 2 weeks ago he is hopeing because shes only a puppy with time on her side the ligarments mite heal,if not she will need surgery.

We have had racing greyhounds with every wrist injury going my OH will say they rarely recover sound enough to race again.

I think it depends on many things as to the outcome and your baby is so young she should stand a good chance of a full recovery.

thank you lillibet,my orthopaedic vet said the same as you.he is hopeing new scar tissue will heal around the lidarments.she is in a splint for 2 weeks again,but he said the leg looks better today.thanks again kim

thanks lillibet,my orthopaedic vet said today the same as you.he is hopeing the scar tissue will heal aroud the ligarments,he as put her in a splint for tow more weeks,but he said the leg looks better.i will let you know the outcome .
