Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this.

One of my dogs has had this problem for the last 3 months, initially with the swelling coming and going to the size of a golf ball and then gradually getting worse. He was sedated on Tuesday for the vet to see exactly where the tear was and had the lump drained (by this point it was the size of a large orange), he was also given a cortizone injection and strapped up with the hope of stopping the fluid flowing long enough to close the hole, this however hasn't done anything as his neck is back up again today to golf ball size. This is the second vet he's been to and both seem quite happy to leave him as he is and both have made a point of saying it isn't painful - it just looks god awful! From what we can gather it's a pretty tricky operation if i was to go ahead and we would have to be transferred to Liverpool Veterinary University which isn't an issue if someone can persuade me enough that it could work. The dog in question isn't yet 2 years old so obviously i'm concerned about what he's going to look like in another 8 years time with such a swelling under his neck, however he is still as mad as a box of frogs and diving all over everywhere (had hoped the neck strapping might calm him down a bit lol)

I had a dog with a swelling in his throat not as bad as yours but I found it was helped by giving him the homeopathic remedy Apis Mel which is really good for any swelling with fluid.

I would try giving it twice a day and see what happens. It will not do any harm even if it does not help.
