What a fabulous win for Justin Bart!

But what Bart - modestly - has failed to mention is this win comes with some awesome side benefits: a dog must win a CAC at this show or one other in France if it is ever to become a French champion, AND this win Crufts qualifies Justin. It can hardly get any better than this, surely!

It is not so easy to become a French champion ...

In fact much more difficult , here I am going to explain it ...

1/ 3 CACs : -1 at the championship show of the club or the of the KC

-1 at an international show in France

- 1 at an international show or national show in france

+ one Very good at a racing or coursing trial.

To obtian this you have to pass your racing or coursing licence even for the foreign exhibitors.

+ all those results ahve to be done LESS than 2 years after the Championship CAC win.

(if the CAC winner of the championship show is not able to homologate the title the RCAC winner have legitimity to ask for the title if it full filled all the same results as thwe inner and tus within 6 months after the 2 years apss ...)

+ one of the CAC obtained must be under a french judge ...

Everybdy ahd understand everything ?

Not an esay title to obtain ...

Stephy, I really do know just how difficult the French title is to obtain. It is even more difficult than the English title because it requires an all round dog, who can course and show, and and one that can post its wins at the right time and the right place, nationally and internationally. But what I was noting is that Bart's dog took one of the crucial steps at the Championnat de France show by winning the CAC and CACIB that Justin will need to work towards that very difficult title.

I think it would be very good everywhere to have some system of certifying that show quality whippets also reach a certain standard in racing or lure coursing (I imagine the most straight-forward thing to do would be to do individual time trials and have qualifying times for each weight group)
