Hi Andy

Someone will be along soon with lots of experience of this :)

HI if you are looking for best diet plan for boxer dog.please visit this page to get all information about boxer dog and search boxer dog diet plan in search bar

Sorry @Andy H I missed this post earlier.

Have a look at www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk

It is an independent dog food comparison website which scores foods on a scale of 0 to 5. You can set filters for your dog's weight, age etc and choose to view only the foods scoring, say, 4 and above. Then you can show them listed according to daily feeding cost so you can see what gives you best value for money.

How did I miss this one ? !!!!!!

Congratulations on considering the change over to a raw diet.

This is normally such an easy process and can be done within a couple of days, there are a couple of different methods;

Fast your dog for one day and then start on the completely new diet, wet green tripe is suggested as very easy to feed and gentle on the stomach for the first  few new meals.

Another suggestion is to change by adding a small amount of the new raw product and increase daily for a few days until you are feeding all raw and no more kibble (1 week should be quiet long enough).

Starting with chicken or wet green tripe is fine (I have never had a problem with any meat) .

A raw meat and bone diet must have variety, different types of meat, including the gristle, fat and skin, offal is essential too and also needs to be varied, all bones are fine if fed raw although some are wary of using weight bearing bones as some dogs can fracture their teeth. Feed raw bones 2 to 3 times a week. (All parts of a dead animals body are absolutely fine to use ! )

A raw meat and bone diet does not have to be balanced every day, but by feeding a good variety of raw products your dogs diet will balance itself over a period of a few weeks.

Do we as humans ever worry if each day our meals are "balanced", no of course not ! this happens over a period of time.

There are some nice little books that are easy to read and easy to understand; "Honeys Natural Handbook for Dogs" by Jonathan Self, and  "Natural Nutrition for Dogs and Cats", by Kymythy Schultze.

Both of these little books can be purchased on Amazon for 1p each. They are fantastic to read and easy to understand for both beginners and long time users of the raw feeding product.

Don't worry too much, feeding raw is easy, there are plenty of pet stores that supply frozen raw meats if you are worried about mess and plenty of nice wet meat suppliers online.

ENJOY !  :cheers:

Actually changing to a raw diet is a lot faster and easier than the above link suggests.
