Couldn't watch it, i knew it would make my blood boil as well. Thick, stupid cowardly people who hide behind their dogs, who shouldn't be allowed to own dogs or be allowed out themselves in the public.

I spared myself the raised blood pressure that I knew would come as a result of watching the programme and just waited for everybody to let me know what a dreadful programme it was :)

We all know that there are idiots who train their dogs to be aggressive, but I don't have to spoil my evening by watching them and no amount of indignance and frustration from me will change their opinion or make even the slightest impact on them, so I would rather not get too stressed about them, since it won't actually change anything.

I did eventually watch it on catchup TV. Hubby heard me and asked why I was watching as it was going to just get me worked up. My reply was, so I can take part in the conversation if needs be. They do wind me up, and most of the people on there were (insert your choice of adjective here)... But it was worth watching (to me) in order to speak responsibly to others in training classes etc that may ask about it.

I actually don't see the point in the programmes like this - it just glorifies it all, but hopefully the law will track down those who were so proud of their nasty dogs and take them off them.

The one woman I could appreciate was trying to do the right thing. And we've all known situations where two dogs of any breed just don't get on. She takes precautions in her own home to avoid that - but probably in the excitement of the filming day a door got left ajar and one got out. Not ideal, but... I'm not condoning owning banned breeds, but I understand the situation of a pair of dogs who don't get on. I've had friends divide their houses in half in order to be able to keep the peace.

The main reason i watched it was to see how they worked the places they trained, can you imagine walking your own dogs and stumbling across them??? Geez it wouldnt be fun, i agree with chelynnah that i hope someone tracks them london crew down .

I didn't watch it so can't comment on the actual programme, I do wonder if any of these dogs are micro chipped and if not if it will make any difference once the new compulsory micro chip law comes in in 2016, i also think a return to dog licencesing might put some of these people off

I have long thought that a Dog Owners Licence should be introduced. People would need to attend training and a sort of test then they would be allowed to apply for a licence this would allow them to own and or look after dogs. After this it would work similar to a driving licence, if someone is found to act wrongly with their dogs then their licence would be withdrawn. This way having a dog would correctly be seen as a privilege not a right.

I think that there are a lot of things that could be done to improve the lot of dogs, from an obligatory training course when buying/adopting a dog to obligatory microchipping and third party insurance, but there's a really big hitch here.

At present there are a few named breeds which are prohibited under the Dangerous Dogs Act, which was originally passed almost 20 years ago. Because it was passed so long ago there should, by now, be NO pit bulls in the UK- yes? By law they were all neutered because that was what was expected in the DDA, weren't they?

No, they weren't, or at least if they were then someone else managed to bring some more into the country, or we wouldn't see the number of dogs which are 'of type' being seized and destroyed in this country.

So, while the DDA is working so well and only those who are naturally responsible and law abiding neutered, tattooed, licensed and walked their dogs in a muzzle, lots of other people made the DDA a complete mockery. What is the point of drawing up more laws without having enforcement? I'm not prepared to start jumping through more hoops, along with thousands of other responsible dog owners, when those who actually NEED to be made to jump through the hoops are the group who aren't being made to jump through them.

Good points. The laws are there, they just need to be enforced? This is the same worldwide when it comes to animal laws. The existing laws would work if they were properly enforced. We don't need new ones

Wholeheartedly agree with this. Just make it a bit more difficult to be able to own a dog so that only people who really want one and are responsible make the effort. Banning them from people with convictions for violence also! At least ones that aren't spent perhaps.

I've personally experienced nasty people with vicious dogs and we destroy the dog and give the owner a slap on the wrist. It disgusts me!

A horrible program, the dogs should have been taken away from everyone as they have no idea what it means to care for a dog and are not responsible dog owners, just an accident waiting to happen if you ask me
